*checks notes* Ah, I see it’s time for my favourite feature image. Big blue, where are you mate?
As is customary around this time of year, retailers and stores are starting to shove a bunch of stock out the door. It’s Big W’s turn today, and the company is cycling through PlayStation stock specifically.
The big discount is on the PS Classic. After costing $149.95 at launch, Press Start has reported that it’s been slashed down to a staggering $39. That’s pretty close to a point where it’s hard to argue with the console’s flaws, if only because you’re paying so little. Although it’s still not at the free gift stage.
On the gaming side, Spider-Man and God of War are down to $29. Detroit: Become Human and GT Sport are even cheaper at $20, and the PlayStation Hits games — think Uncharted 1, 2 and 3 — are going for $17.
The best hardware deal you’ll find outside of that is the $49 for a new DualShock 4 controller, which is still one of the best pads for PC gaming. There’s a Gold Wireless Headset in black and white for $69, which isn’t a bad deal, and a PSVR starter pack for $249 if that takes your fancy. No top deals on the PS4 Pro, unfortunately, but I’d argue that you’re better off saving your money for when the PS5 drops in 2020.
Target are doing a bunch of PlayStation deals as well, which you can read about on Press Start here.
