Yeah, this looks good.
I’ve been saying for a while that out of all the live-action remakes Disney has going on, the one with the best chance of nailing it was always going to be Mulan. The comedic musical was a banger in its time, but the nature of Disney’s artstyle in the ’90s meant a lot of the scenery, costuming and colour that you often see in Eastern period dramas meant there was so much the film could do as a live-action flick, particularly when given a massive budget.
And as it turns out: Crouching Tiger level action sequences.
