Aussies Get First Dibs On EVE Online’s Mobile Spin-Off, EVE Echoes

Ever wanted to get into EVE Online but a bit daunted by all the spreadsheets? Then you might want to check out the mobile MMO spin-off, EVE Echoes.

A closed alpha for the mobile MMO, which was jointly developed by CCP Games and NetEase, is being opened up to Australians, New Zealanders and Norwegian Android and iOS gamers from August 26.

The official release says the closed alpha, which you can sign up for here, will be open to users with an iPhone 6S or better, Samsung Note8, Note9, S8, S9, Huawei P30 or Google Pixel 2. It doesn’t say newer versions of the Pixel and the Galaxy phones can’t run EVE Echoes, though.

“Players will be free to engage in interstellar combat, resource collection, industrial manufacturing, trade, exploration as well as many other activities across thousands of planetary systems,” the official release says.

No new gameplay was released with the announcement, but CCP released some alpha footage of the mobile MMO last year:
