Here’s September 2019’s Xbox Live Games With Gold Lineup

Hitman’s first season led February’s PlayStation Plus games, but if you’re an Xbox fan, now you can get it too with September’s Games with Gold. Which you should, because it rules. As always, these games are only “free” if you have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription.

September’s Games with Gold are:

Xbox One

  • Hitman: The Complete First Season (September 1-30)

  • We Were Here (September 16-October 15)

Xbox 360 (compatible with Xbox One)

  • Earth Defence Force 2025 (September 1-15)

  • Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (September 16-30)

  • I played We Were Here on Steam earlier this year (It’s free), really interesting concept game that forces you to walkie-talkie solutions to puzzles to your co-op friend over your headset. It’s the closest I’ve felt a videogame has come to creating the atmosphere of an escape room

  • I would argue, a little bit of a weak month for Xbox. They usually have the upper hand on Sony giving away 4 games which will all be compatible on Xbox One, but even this I think is not as strong as Sony’s offering (you can’t always win I suppose). Batman Arkham Knight and Darksiders 3, while both flawed in their own ways are still better than what’s happening here.

Hitman was on Game Pass for a while, We Were Here you can play for free, Earth Defence Force we’ve gotten 3 of them in the last 6 months and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 was free years ago (2016 during E3).

Don’t get me wrong, if you like this lineup, all the more power to you, I’m just giving an opinion not fact that I think the month is not great for Games with Gold.

  • Pretty sure GWG will be lackluster from now on.
Game Pass Ultimate will be top priority.
It’s been a shite year for GWG but pretty amazing for Game Pass.
