Cluedo's mansion hasn't changed its layout since it was first released in 1949 but for its 70th birthday, it's getting a pretty drastic renovation.
The Hall is being replaced with a moody bathroom, inspired by a real-life interior designer Ann Lowengart, after it was voted on by the public out of four options.
The board's makers, Hasbro, teamed up with home design site, Houzz, to help decide what room would replace the now-outdated hall room. Voters could choose between a new hall design, a guest room, a drawing room as well as the bathroom. It made the most sense to voters, however, that the nine-room mansion was finally gifted with a bathroom.
Featuring a bath tub, two sinks, a shower and a toilet, the new room is adorned with the striking blue wallpaper from the original design. Now you'll be able to murder Mustard in the bathroom with a candlestick like you always wanted to.
The updated version of Cluedo will be available in 2020.
I grew up in the 90s, when computers, and the internet, were fun things to do after school for half an hour, rather than the place where I spent almost every waking hour of my life. This was partly because it cost a lot of money to access the internet through the anguished robot scream of dial-up, and partly because, well, there wasn’t much to look at anyway.
