Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are being released this week and Amazon is chucking Australians a sweet deal to make it a reality.

The eighth-generation titles will be unveiled on November 15 on the Nintendo Switch and Amazon is offering Shield and Sword for $62.10 with free shipping.

But to sweeten the deal, Prime members will get a further $5 off this price bringing it down to $57.10. If you haven’t yet signed up for Prime, you’ll be pleased to know you can start a free 30-day trial, get the discount, receive the title and then cancel your subscription if you don’t want to keep it.

With the Prime discount, it’s the lowest price available after Amazon price-matched Big W’s $62.10 offering.

Sword and Shield have been one of the more controversial Pokémon titles in recent times. It was revealed not the entire back catalogue of ‘mons would make the final game. For the first time in the series’ history, a very limited dex would be available. Instead, there would be only 400 to catch with the remaining 478 not being available at all in the game, including favourites like Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Whether that will be enough to deter longtime fans from the game, however, remains to be seen.
