This one-sentence description format is really uninformative and rather unhelpful at determining whether it’s worth watching these shows. Either that or anime seems to commonly centre around the same plots. (Yes, I’m being mostly facetious)
Would you be excited to read/watch a trilogy about a pair of little people with hairy feet who want to chuck a ring in a volcano? Or watch the tale of a kid with magical powers trying to find a rock?
yeah, none of these sound really appealing in this format.
These articles tend to be quite long so I think it’s reasonable that it serves as a superficial overview, while the “5 Must Watch Anime of Spring 2020” or whatever act as a more in-depth view. Provided they’re still happening (are they still happening?).
But yes, I can only read some variation on “a girl who spends all her time inside playing games finds herself transported inside one” so many times before I start to tune out.
