It's been a busy week for the Microsoft Store. With the Sea of Thieves closed beta and the subsequent beta for the Age of Empires remaster, gamers have been rediscovering Microsoft's answer to Steam.
But to put it kindly: if the Microsoft Store is the answer, I don't want to know what the question is.
Could 2018 be as solid a year as 2017? Possibly not. But you couldn't piss off a gardener as a goose in 2017, there wasn't a new Mega Man game, and most people thought Telltale had forgotten about The Wolf Among Us entirely. And that's just some of what we can look forward to this year.
Xbox held a preview event for the Xbox One X, showing off their first and third party games. But while it was nice to see more of the console up close, the most telling thing was that the most popular game wasn't running on an Xbox at all.
Gamescom has been described as the event where Europe comes together to talk about games. Naturally, there's a lot of games on the show floor. I didn't get a chance to play everything, of course, but there was plenty that Australians won't have gotten a chance to get hands on with quite yet.
