When it comes to colourful cone avoidance simulators, it's hard to top Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. The real-time tactics game spawned several solid sequels, until petering out in 2006 with Strike Force, an FPS of all things. But it looks like the series is poised for a comeback, with Tropico dev Kalypso snapping up the rights.

You'll probably never get a proper Warcraft game again. Dungeon Keeper's name is now mud. If you're a fan of either series (or both), and want to play those kind of games again, you're not getting any help from Blizzard or EA. You might want to look to smaller companies -- like Realmforge -- instead.
