Even though playing games is typically how Rick and Morty end up putting the multiverse in jeopardy, the dimension-hopping duo are about to embark upon the journey of their lives with the help of a tabletop classic. This August, IDW and Oni Press are partnering to publish a four-issue limited series from writers Patrick Rothfuss and Jim Zub, with illustrations from Troy Little, where Rick and Morty will get sucked into the world of Dungeons & Dragons.


The Vindicators - featured in an episode of Rick and Morty this season - are kind of like if all the Guardians of the Galaxy were emotionally-stunted, alcoholic sex fiends who became a superhero team because they had nothing better to do with their time. While there's a very good chance they will be coming back to the show eventually, the squad's about to get its own comic book courtesy of Oni Press.


Today, May 6, is basically comic book fan Christmas -- because it's Free Comic Book Day, the annual celebration across comic stores the world over for revelling in the comics we love (and get free ones, too). As ever, there are a ton of comics on offer for FCBD this year, so here's our picks for the ones you should look out for.


Scott Pilgrim was first introduced to the world 11 years ago, in a series of graphic novels that had the slacker bassist fighting off his girlfriend's evil exes. Then came a beloved cult movie and retro-styled video game. Now, with a new colour version of the final Scott Pilgrim book out in the world, it looks like the last time the character's creator will touch Scott Pilgrim again. To commemorate the occasion, we spoke to the books' creator, Bryan Lee O'Malley.


He was only with us for such a short time, that snarky green alien who posed as a human being. But the love for Zim never stopped and in fact only grew stronger. Now fans everywhere will be getting their wish: more Invader Zim is coming this July from comics publisher Oni Press.
