While the US government has done an absolutely paltry job of helping Puerto Rico recover from a devastating season of hurricanes that left thousands of people dead and millions without proper access to power, one comics creator is doing what he can to give back to the island.

Though Puerto Rico might no longer dominate the headlines the way it did in the days and weeks after last year's hurricane season left at least 1000 people dead, there are countless more people on the island who are still fighting to piece their lives back together. In the spirit of rebuilding, comics creator Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez is partnering with DC Comics to bring his hero, La Borinqueña, together with members of the Justice League in Ricanstruction: Reminiscing & Rebuilding Puerto Rico.
Even though the news cycle has moved on and shifted the focus away from Puerto Rico, the island is still struggling to recover from hurricanes Irma and Maria that ravaged the island, killed hundreds, and left over a million people without power. Though many have forgotten Puerto Rico, Lion Forge hasn't.
It was the day after hurricane Irma had hit Puerto Rico, and Luis Galarza Figueroa was left without options. Walking outside of his family's home in Barceloneta after the storm subsided, he could see trees and cables on the ground.
The power, something Figueora needed for many things including his burgeoning competitive gaming career, was gone.
