At E3 Sunday, Shinji Mikami announced GhostWire: Tokyo, the next game by Evil Within series developers Tango Gameworks. Creative director Ikumi Nakamura described it as an action-adventure game with horror elements where the player rids the city of a “supernatural evil.” Check out the eerie trailer below.
Recently, I played The Evil Within 2 on Kotaku US‘ Twitch channel. I expected a linear series of monsters and scares but instead found a loose, semi-open world structure that made me feel anxious and helpless. It’s a chaotic, freeform take on horror that make every encounter unique and scary.
Hint: In spooky-scary Shinji Mikami survival-horror The Evil Within, it’s a pretty big one. If your internet connection is non-existent/unreliable, this is probably not the best news.
