Wow. April is just terrible for new releases. After last week’s pitiful two new games, this week finds us reaching for our thesaurus to find a word that means worse than pitiful.

MadWorld’s probably the highlight this week. But Wii owners should also consider Mario Power Tennis. And fans of real-time strategy, whether on PC, console or even Mac, have a generous selection to choose from. What are you picking up this week?

Game of the week is undoubtedly Empire: Total War, from the Creative Assembly and Sega. Sure, the competition isn’t the strongest, but this is a title that would tower above all others most weeks of the year. However, if a monolithic PC strategy game isn’t your idea of fun, there’s always Rapala Fishing Frenzy…
