If you ever need advice on what to eat in Tokyo, you can always ask Drew Barrymore. She sure knows. Recently, the actor and movie producer was in Tokyo and uploaded a series of photos of her culinary adventures to Instagram with the hashtag #tokyofoodtour.
So! One morning, Barrymore’s breakfast looked like this.
She had some robatayaki — which you should definitely try if you are visiting Japan.
Obligatory photo with a vending machine.
Barrymore got some Krispy Kreme, which is fine. Though, my personal recommendation would be Mister Doughnut. Mister Doughnut is so fucking good.
Early morning ramen at Tsujiki Inoue.
What makes Tsukiji Inoue restaurant unique is that it’s open from 4.30am to 1.30pm. The reason why is that it’s located near the Tsukiji fish market, which is open before the crack of dawn. Because of that, this ramen restaurant is open during the hours fishermen work, serving up quick, hot meals before the break of dawn.
Sushi with Jiro and Yoshikazu of documentary film Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
And what trip to Tokyo would be complete without a snapshot in Shibuya’s scramble crossing?
Drew Barrymore isn’t only good to ask for Tokyo food advice. She knows a lot about making movies too. Ask her for those tips!

What is it about Asian food? Maybe it’s just me but I find it wholesome and just looking at it makes me hungry!

a) …think of her marriage to Tom Green
b) … think of her successful recovering from drug abuse
c) … want to play or coach roller derby
Surely she has a self portrait hidden in her attic.
