Last year, Kotaku showed images of a Bitcoin mining operation in Hong Kong. It was fancy! However, these recent photos of a Bitcoin mine in northeast China are anything but.

The Coinsman reports that the three miners employed here only make it back to their homes for a couple days each month. They sleep at the mine, working in three different round-the-clock shifts.

The miners apparently only have “just a couple” of Bitcoins for themselves — though, one of the miners told The Coinsman he set up small rigs for himself at home.
When not attending to the hardware or checking the security monitor, the miners like to play online games like Tera or watch movies.

The monthly electric bill is somewhere around US$60,000!

If you’re even thinking about Bitcoin mining, don’t bother. A lot of kids think it’s great because they don’t pay utility bills and it uses their fully sick gaming rigs. i.e. ‘free money.’ The founders and early adopters snatched up all the low-hanging fruit years ago and it’s virtually impossible to profitably mine these days unless your electricity is dirt cheap like these Chinese guys, or you’re using the rigs in lieu of central heating during the Siberian winter.
