The movie Aliens scared me almost as much as the first film back when I was a kid. Alien Vs. Predator wasn’t so bad as I was much older and immune to fear, at least until Alien: Isolation proved otherwise. Now all three are digital pinball tables. These I can handle.
The Aliens Vs. Pinball pack for Zen Pinball 2 and Pinball FX 2 arrives on PlayStations, Xboxen, PC and mobile today, with three tables representing a fair cross-section of the Aliens movie and gaming universe.
We’ve got Aliens, based on a movie that defined science fiction horror action for a generation, mixing heart-stopping fear with exhilarating action.
A massive alien queen serves as fitting backdrop for the table, a very mission-oriented affair that allows players to choose between random mission order or movie mission order. The voice of Private Hudson sporadically bursts forth with catchphrases. When the game is over, the appropriate line plays. That’s all I was really looking for, and I got it.
The Alien Vs. Predator table made me realise how much I’d forgotten about the crossover movie event. Was it really a combination of Alien, Predator and ’90s game show A*mazing?
If you finish this puzzle you win a skateboard. (No you do not.)
I guess it was.
Finally we have Alien: Isolation, based on the game I could not play because I am a weak man who is easily frightened by interactive entertainment.
Folks who have played the game can jump to 7:41 in the video at the top of the post and tell me how well it pays homage to whatever it was you people were doing in a dark spaceship filled with murderous xenomorphs.
I never would have come out of that vent. Vent life! #TeamVent.
The Alien Vs. Pinball pack for Pinball FX 2 and Zen Pinball 2 should be available for iOS, Android, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Vita, Mac and particularly powerful toasters tomorrow, just after Alien Day.

Wait, America had A*mazing too?
Also, Xboxen is a pretty great plural.
Also also, these look cool.
Just make sure you read the EULA for Pinball FX2. The fun bit:
“To the extent ZEN makes location enabled ZEN Services available and you use such ZEN Services, ZEN may collect and process your location data to provide location related ZEN Services and advertisements”
“The data we process on you may include, but is not limited to: email address, device ID, IP-address, user names and passwords.
ZEN may supplement your data with data received from third parties in connection with demographic, advertisement, market and other analytics surveys or services.”

Isn’t that lovely?
Doesn’t sound too different to most EULAs?
