In early 2014, the company Playdek crowdfunded over $US660,000 ($873,972) to make a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy Tactics alongside its creator, Yasumi Matsuno. Two and a half years later, they just can’t seem to stop breaking promises.
In January of 2014, a company called Playdek launched a Kickstarter promising a spiritual successor to one of my favourite games, Final Fantasy Tactics. It made $US660,126. I really wish I hadn’t backed it.
This is Agricola, available now on iOS from Playdek Games. Based on one of German board game designer Uwe Rosenberg’s finest creations, it’s deep, satisfying and a little complex, but nowhere near as complex as this.
