As long-running games evolve, the older bits of design begin to show their rust. For a game with a lifespan like League of Legends, which has been around for almost a decade, there's plenty of old gears that don't turn like they used to. One of those rusty bits, Galio, is next up to receive a spruce and shine.

Yesterday afternoon, Riot Games published an explanation for why it hasn't added an oft-requested sandbox mode to its hit online multiplayer game League of Legends. The response was bullshit.
Briefly: Riot just announced a new blog/initiative to improve the way it communicates with League of Legends' millions and millions of players. It's called "Riot Pls" instead of "Rito Pls" for some reason. Read about their current priorities -- including a better client! -- in this introductory post.
League of Legends changes in big ways with alarming frequency. The game's tens of millions of players have learned to never be shy about letting Riot know they don't like something, therefore -- usually by writing a strongly-worded forum post. This week, angry fans are doing something much more elaborate. And awesome.
