This sort of rubbish is not common in Hong Kong. This isn’t an everyday occurrence. Then again, how often does a new iPhone launch?
These photos were uploaded by Facebook user Hong Kong Live and show the wake of rubbish left by those queued up for the iPhone 6. People online in Hong Kong were very surprised to see this kind of mess.
Here, you can see photos from Next Media of the line in front of a Granville Road retailer in Hong Kong, with hundreds of people waiting for the iPhone 6.

And here, it seems, is the result of people waiting outside for days on end. According to news reports, many people were waiting for the gold 128GB iPhone 6 Plus. That particular model is already fetching a high price. Sina reports that one reseller is even asking nearly $3000 for a gold iPhone 6 Plus.
Local residents, however, are complaining online because they are not happy about the trash iPhone buyers left behind. I wouldn’t be either.

Yeah this is unusual. They are pretty strict with their littering laws in HK. For a city with so many people, the streets are usually clean.
Was there similar detritus in other cities? Or were the HK fanbois just a bit more feral than our hipster fanbois?
And
Once a year isn’t it? More frequently than olympics with 1000 time more hype.
about as often as a new call of duty game, with about as many new innovative features, a hype train traveling on the same tracks and, after all is said and done, everyone sitting back and it slowly dawning on them that it is, at best, a slightly shinier version of the one they already have.
Lot more competition than say, Sydney. And from what I can tell, the people who lined up were those couldn’t or wouldn’t pre-order. There’s also a massive iPhone racket selling them back into mainland China, where it still hasn’t launched and people are paying 2-3x retail for them.
Ahhh, did not think of that. Thanks
That’s terrible. It looks like EVERYONE dropped something -_-
eww this is just so fucking gross… get your shit together people its just a fucking phone.
When you do something like this then at least pick up the shit you leave behind and put it into a bin somewhere!
A box of Pampers? I hope that was just a box…
The images of the people lining up for the Iphone. They don’t look like the “I want to be the first to own a apple product” crowd.
And that level of rubbish. I’ve never seen that level of rubbish just dumped in the open in Hong Kong even in a large crowd.
Something doesn’t look right
