The Incredible Video Game Art Of Toshiaki Mori

Toshiaki Mori is a man you may not know by name, but you’ll definitely know him by his work. As an artist working in the video game industry for over 20 years now, he’s produced some of gaming’s most striking and iconic pieces of promotional and cover art.

Whether it be working for SNK or later Capcom, “Shinkiro” as he’s popularly known has been behind images of Metal Slug, Street Fighter, King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown that are as memorable as the games themselves.

At the age of 48, which in video game terms makes him an “old man” of sorts, Mori continues to work to this day, his most recent works being for the freshly-released fighting game Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

Website Urban-Muse has compiled an impressive gallery of some of Shinkiro’s most famous works. There are over 90 pieces there, along with a great write-up on the man, so once you’re done checking out the highlights here head there for the full feast.
