Return Of The Jedi LEGO Has A Freakin' Sarlacc Pit

There's been a lot of great Star Wars LEGO over the years, but these two new sets, both based on the opening of Return of the Jedi, are my new favourites.

The first set is Jabba's Palace ($120). It not only has a moving throne platform, for trapping Luke beneath while he sticks bones in a stupid animal's mouth, but also a carbonite-frozen Han Solo (who can pop out and become Blind Han Solo) and even a minifig of one of the coolest characters in the entire Star Wars universe, a B'omarr Monk.

The second set is called "Desert Skiff" ($25), an exercise in understatement if ever I've seen it, because the star is really the LEGO Sarlacc pit, which can gobble up the little Boba Fett that comes with it.

Both sets will be out in September.

uh, these have been out for ages, I have the Desert Skiff already, so not sure where you got september from

Yeah dude, these have been out over here for ages, might be different in US?

    Video games.

Lego Star Wars was totally ace, I spent like 50 hours playing it to get 100%.

As stated, been out for aaaggeeess... I have the Palace on my desk. Also, Australia typically gets Lego releases after Europe and the US, so they've been out in the world for even longer than that. Seriously Plunkett, do some fact checking and before you hit 'Submit', consider how relevant your most recent brainfart is.

I didn't know these existed! The department stores have only been stocking the Ewok themes sets from Jedi!

I Have Jabba's Sail Barge which came with that. Bought it years ago.

The Super-class Star Destroyer (or Star Dreadnought) is a pretty awesome LEGO kit.
