This ESPN story on the “mighty mind” of the basketball superstar leads with an unexpected anecdote: LeBron was really, really good at playing… Shaq Fu on the Genesis.
“LeBron was the only one who had memorized all the moves and so he’d win every time”, remembers James’ friend Brandon Weems. “We all thought he definitely was cheating.”
Fast forward to the 21st century and things have only got better (for LeBron) and worse (for anyone playing against him).
“When you play Madden with him now you have to be careful which teams you take”, Weems adds, “because he will know what your game plans were in the past when you’ve played with him and he’ll pick the opposing team knowing what plays you want to run.”
There are two types of gamers in the world. Those who play like LeBron, and those who hate playing with/against people like LeBron.
