Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is a fighting game that takes many of the most popular light novel characters (which have subsequently appeared in popular anime and manga) and has them battle it out. But I have to say my favourite part of the game isn’t the fighting, it’s the character sprites.
We’ve already looked at the cast of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax and where they have come from; but seeing them in sprite form is a pleasure, to say the least. Check out the gallery below to see them in all their pixelated glory.
Oh, and if you want pixel art icons of the cast, you can get them here — along with some fun redesigns of the characters featuring a more “spherical” shape.
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax was released in Japan for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on November 13, 2014. There is currently no word on an international release.

Looks amazing! Especially Selvaria!!
I wonder if Horo can change into her wolf form?
I was like, godamn, sega are the ones who are pushing out all this crappy type B anime! then there’s dokuro-chan.
Worst part of this article? Gif-splosion, goodbye mobile data
So worth it tho!
This isn’t really that big compared to some of the other articles which have been anywhere from 30MB to just over 100MB. The real crime in this article (other than abusing quotas) is making an article about the art and then sticking it in a format that only supports 256 colours. They invented streamed media for a reason…
I like how in the 1st gif they have the two Kirigaya siblings in one team, and then in the 7th gif they have the two Valkyria in one team. I’m not familiar enough with the other characters to pick out pairings, but I wonder if the other gifs have such groupings too?
Wow that Green Hill Zone stage is gorgeous!
