If you’ve ever had the urge to hug a Goron or explore a real-life version of the Water Temple, you may want to book a trip to America — Nintendo announced today plans to do a series of escape rooms centring on The Legend of Zelda, as part of a limited tour that will be travelling across the United States this year.
Nintendo is partnering with an escape-room company called SCRAP to make this happen, and they say this Zelda game will be different than your average escape room.
“Instead of escaping from a locked room, participants work in teams of six to solve a mystery in a huge area, all within a set time limit,” says Nintendo in a press release. “The experience will let guests interact with classic items and characters seen in The Legend of Zelda series like the Goron, Zora and Kokiri tribes. Discovered items can be used to solve puzzles and move forward into other areas, just like in The Legend of Zelda games.”
Now’s your chance to experience the exploration & puzzle solving of #Zelda in one legendary real-life adventure. Get excited! #SCRAPZelda pic.twitter.com/RJ0j6NILgk

The dates so far:
- San Francisco — Jan. 31-Feb. 5
- Los Angeles — Feb. 10-12
- San Diego — Feb. 24-25
- Seattle — TBA
- Phoenix — TBA
- Houston — TBA
- Chicago — TBA
- New York — TBA
I for one will be there as soon as the calendar hits TBA. I wonder if they’re reusing all the extravagant scenery they brought to E3? Unfortunately as of now there aren’t any plans to bring it to Australia.

Trump will be president before it starts so no thanks.
You fail if you don’t hold items above your head when you claim them.
Then you have to hide them in your clothes. Even if they’re as big as a cannon.
Man you’d have to queue for weeks to get a spot.
Can I be the one who just gets carried around throughout the course?
All while berating the other players and pointing out how easy everything is.
So… you want to be princess ruto??
I’ll be honest. I’d rather not see news at all regarding awesome stuff like this happening in the US. It’s just cruel.
Well if Nintendo doesn’t have any plans to bring Defenders of the Triforce in collaboration with The Legend of Zelda into Australia. How are we going to celebrate The Legend of Zelda’s 30th anniversary if they are not going to bring this Legend of Zelda attraction in Australia? It’s absolute bullcrap!
