Skyrim And Fallout Fans Are Making Killer Mods On PS4 Despite Limitations

On PC, mods are the lifeblood of games like Skyrim and Fallout. Console owners eventually got mods too, but it’s not the same: the PS4 version of the game is severely limited by small file sizes and the inability to use external file assets. The joy of watching Thomas the Tank Engine careen across the sky might never grace Sony consoles, but even so, mod creators on the PS4 are still finding ways to make some pretty cool shit, as you’ll see in this video.

Mods featured:

  • There are some good parts to having limits on the mods. Not the file size but with the limits on external assets it does help with immersion a bit more when mod devs aren’t all these external assets into it. At least that’s my opinion.

    • Limiting external assets will never be a good thing for modding, it’s up to the player to find out if a mod is immersive or not and equally the responsibility of modders to properly explain whether or not their mod is immersive.
With full use of external assets modders can make significantly better looking immersive mods.

      • Maybe I am just a little jaded after running into all the “play as iron man!?!?!”, mods on other games 😛

  • How are the mods going for Xbox One? do people get there mods taken down from using certain copyrighted assets and do people try to sneak nsfw mods on to Xbox One or are Microsoft/Bethesda able check everything before it uploaded?
