It Looks Like The Sims 4 Is Heading To Uni

During my first year at university, I watched in horror as one of my flatmates drank a horrible concoction of Guinness and some extra-strength vodka they’d purchased from The Ritz. Unsurprisingly, they then proceeded to feel extremely sorry for themselves, spending much of the rest of the evening huddled over the toilet while mumbling in a Scouse accent (they are not Scouse). So I hope you’ll forgive me if I’m unconvinced by The Sims’ ability to capture the authentic British university experience.

That’s not about to stop EA from trying, however, as The Sims 4: Discover University appears to have shown up on the US Xbox One store. A number of images were shared over the weekend by Twitter user CapturetheCosmo, showcasing boxart, a December release date, and a lengthy description of the upcoming expansion.

That description suggests that your sims will be able to enrol in one of two institutions – the historical University of Britechester or the more modern Foxbury Institute. From there, decide whether to live on or off campus, and pick a career path – study hard, and getting a high-flying career further down the line should be easy.

If you really want to capture the university experience, however, you can blow off your classes and sleep in, before spending a busy day hanging out with your roommates and playing the messy-sounding Juice Pong.

It’s likely that these screens have arrived earlier than expected, as they’ve not shown up elsewhere just yet. EA is yet to officially announce the expansion, but with a console release date apparently set for November and a PC version expected to arrive sooner than that, confirmation probably isn’t too far away.
