Dallas-based Janimation uses a different approach, mapping only points on a face and then applying them on a model. Other studios also use this technique.
The company’s latest tech reel shows it in action. If you’ve never seen anything like this, it’s somewhat creepy.
Janimation is best known for its movie special effects work in flicks like Spy Kids 3D: Game Over, but the studio also created the E3 trailer for Stranglehold, the game filmmaker John Woo made with Midway.
