The Japanese movie industry is turning beloved manga and anime Lupin the Third into a live-action feature film. How thrilling. Or nerve-racking. Or both!
The movie is slated for a Q3 2014 release. Above, you can see the first official promo image from the flick, courtesy of its official site and IT Media.
The movie will star Tadanobu Asano as Inspector Zenigata, Go Ayano as Goemon, Tetsuji Tamayama as Daisuke Jigen, Meisa Kuroki as Fujiko, and Shun Oguri as title character Arsène Lupin III. You can see the cast and characters below.
Ryuhei Kitamura (Versus, Azumi, Godzilla Final Wars) will direct the picture. Kitamura also directed the in-game cutscenes for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.

Ryuhei Kitamura is a legend
Agreed. I don’t necessarily think this film needs to get made, but it’s certainly in better hands than I expected.
wasnt it the castle of cagliostro that they werent allowed to say his name for copyright reasons, but they say it anyway. I remember watching it on SBS when they used to have the movie intros by some guy.
I miss Des Mangan. They have some guy doing the movie introductions again and he really can’t hold a candle to Des.
