Ralph Savelsberg wanted to build a LEGO fighter jet, so he figured he may as well build one of the most iconic out there: not just an F-14 Tomcat, but Maverick’s F-14 Tomcat from 1986’s Top Gun.
How LEGO builders conceptualise this stuff, just knowing what pieces will work where, never ceases to amaze me. Everything about this is so perfect, from the cockpit to the angle of the nose to the cannons to Maverick and Iceman looking like they’re about to drop those helmets and just hug it out.

of course, he could have picked up a nice plastic kit from Academy or Revell and had an accurate Tomcat. They’re much nicer than Lego models.
Of course, James May could have just built a house from actual steel, lumber and concrete and had an accurate house. They’re much nicer than Lego models.
Of course, games like Minecraft are rubbish because of all the jaggies.
Missing the point entirely.
Maverick and iceman are not friends. The wingman of Maverick is “Goose”
