Devon Fay is an environment artist who has worked at Blizzard, Neversoft and Infinity Ward.
His Call of Duty space stuff is fantastic, but it’s the homages to Alien/2001 (like the pic above) that I just love. From the carpet to the board games, it really nails that Ron Cobb feel.
You can see more of Devon’s work at his personal site and ArtStation page.

I like the last one the most.
I love that first one. So lush. Nice craft docked there. Epic.
That last one is packed with references:
– The motion tracker from Aliens in the corridor.
– A copy of 2001: A Space Odyssey on the bookshelf.
– A Wi-fi enabled NES with Super Mario Bros playing on one of the TV screens.
– The carpet from the overlook hotel in The Shining.
– An Alien boardgame / puzzle box in the stack.
– Photos of Ripley and Slave Princess Leia on the wall.
I have a feeling the holo-chess is from something too. Blade Runner perhaps?
It’s not a round board, but it could be alluding to the holo chess in Star Wars?
That did occur to me, but all the other recreations are so faithful I figured it would be too if it were meant as a reference to that.
well spotted dude
