Artist Khyzyl Saleem has an idea on what he’d like Back to the Future to look like. I’ve got to say, as emotionally attached as a lot of people are to the DeLorean DMC-12 from the movies, this looks pretty damn good.
If you’re wondering what car that actually is, it’s a DeTomaso Pantera. Which is a much cooler motor vehicle than the DeLorean ever was.

Is the DeTomaso Pantera made with stainless steel though? Didn’t Doc Brown picked the DeLorean because it was stainless steel and that was the requirement for time travel?
Well Doc didn’t get around to what the stainless-steel construction did with the flux-dispersal, but it was definitely a factor. His primary concern was style though.
Style it was. And I have to disagree with the author – The DeLorean is the far cooler car. The Pantera is a friggin’ sweet ride, but even the artist tried to make it look more like a DeLorean than its’ own thing.
yes the stainless steel construction made time travel possible 🙂
Then howd it work with the train?
The Delorean was chosen for the movie BECAUSE of it’s ridiculous design and the gull wing doors! Before that, it was going to be a refrigerator. Does that car have gull wing doors? Nooo 😛 But it still looks awesome despite all that. Tough choice really…
No gull wing doors…
Any other argument is invalid.
Not cool enough to be a time machine in Back to the Future. 😉
Is the the DeTomaso Pantera a cooler car than DeLorean, yes.
But the DeLorean will always be the coolest car/time machine!
But not being the coolest car makes it the coolest time machine, on wheels.
Little blue box is still cooler time machine, or the lounge chair?.
