There’s not a whole lot in this video, but what’s there is pretty bloody good.
It’s a teaser trailer for the Warcraft movie, which is due out early June next year. It’s only 15 seconds long, but it does exactly what a teaser trailer should do: hype, hype and more hype.
Also, lightning. And orcs. And a big hammer. Watch.
Must. Restrain. Hype.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Not hugely into the game but never thought a decent movie would ever come from it.
I’m cautiously optimistic…
you forgot to add that the full trailer comes out on saturday during the Blizzcon opening ceromoney which will be streamed on twitch and other sites ( opening ceromoney is free, virutal ticket is for the panels and everything else)
Only 3 days to go! I didn’t know they opening ceremony was free, that’s pretty cool. I bought a virtual ticket ages ago though, I love watching the panels.
yeah the opening ceromoney has always been free for people to watch since 2009 when they started streaming. 2008 it was on main event/pay per view and 2009 was when they brought in the virtual ticket
The Hype Train is in the station ready to depart. Will it take us to an amazing place, or will it crash and burn? Who knows? At least it’ll be one heck of a ride.
It looks amazing. Seeing Stormwind and The Barrens/Durotar(?) come to life is just… wow.
Please be good. Please.
Duncan Jones. He hasn’t steered us wrong yet…
He does have a solid track record. That trailer had some sloppy post-processing but that tends to be something done late in production anyway, I’m sure the movie will look great on release.
Plus, Blizzard has been front and center for the *entire* production, insisting on being heavily involved in the script, the character, set, monster and weaponry designs etc.
So glad the didn’t give it to Uwe Boll.
He would have ruined it. For everyone and the next 5 generations.
lmao I actually interviewed Uwe *years* ago and he told us the story of how he approached Blizzard and they shut him down with a laugh and a ‘Never!’ lol
Yeah, I remember him approaching Blizz and how he got shot down. I laughed so hard when I read that part.
This was the quote from MTV news, Uwe was a little more diplomatic with us lmao
“I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard [about a World of Warcraft film] and he said, ‘We will not sell the movie rights, not to you…especially not to you,’”
Exactly! I’m cautiously very optimistic for this. More details to come soon I suppose.
Trust the Bowie-spawn. He has a good track record.
Wow 2008 me is so hyped!
SPOILER: King Lane gets assassinated by Garona, Orcs invade Azeroth, Gul’Dan makes a pact with the Burning legion and betrays the Orcs.
I haven’t played WoW… and my last Warcraft game was Warcraft 3 on release, so I don’t know if that’s a spoiler or not.
But, you know there’s actually a spoiler tag…
if you wanted to include spoilers. The joke there is all that stuff happens in Warcraft. It’s history.
Cool.
I didn’t know, and I didn’t want to appear like a dick.
IN
The actor who plays Lothar is a boss, so good Vikings TV series, this could be really cool
I’m quietly optimistic. I don’t think it’ll be a commercial success but I’m kinda thinking it’ll be a great fan service film
