King of Kong is one of the greatest movies on gaming that has ever been produced, but that’s partly thanks to the wonderful cartoon-esque villainy provided by Billy Mitchell, one of the stars.
Mitchell’s experienced a bit of cartoon drama of his own recently though, with the former Donkey Kong world record holder losing his lawsuit against the Cartoon Network.
The Associated Press has reported that Billy Mitchell has failed in his bid to sue the Cartoon Network over a character called Garrett Bobby Ferguson that was used on the “Regular Show”. Garrett’s a massive bearded head that’s basically a parody of Mitchell, and if you’re confused by that then the below video should help:
Judge Thompson from the New Jersey Federal District Court ruled that the television character did not match Mitchell in appearance and pointed out several differences, including the fact that Mitchell has never exploded in real life.
“The television character does not match the plaintiff in appearance: GBF appears as a non-human creature, a giant floating head with no body from outer space, while Plaintiff is a human being … and when GBF loses his title, the character literally explodes, unlike Plaintiff,” AP quotes Thompson as writing.
Mitchell had sued claiming the Cartoon Network had stolen his likeness for the character, but Judge Thompson found that the character was protected by the First Amendment.

Obviously based on him, but hey, first amendment guys!
as soon as i saw the title i thought “He’s suing over Garret Bobby Ferguson right?”
It’s parody. It’s protected. Go home, Billy. Nobody likes you.
I like that nice Steve Wiebe. Such a polite young man.
Though I don’t like that doctor who just had to one up everyone at the end. Seemed kinda petty. :pBahahahaha cartoon villainy indeed.
I always wonder about people like him.. Does he realise how defective his personality is?
Of course not, people like him don’t realise what a douche they are. They just see people not giving them the respect they deserve.
