Debuting in December 2003, Gintama is one of Weekly Jump’s most popular manga. Like anything, it will come to an end. And that end could be soon.
Numerous major Japanese sites (here, here and here, for example) are publishing a two-page spread from the upcoming Weekly Jump, which states Gintama will end after five more instalments. Kotaku has yet to confirm this report, but this could mean that the manga will come to a close in the next few weeks!

So Gintama ends in 5 weeks. What a strange situation: second oldest Jump title (not counting HxH here) will be 2012 Haikyuu with current length of “only” 30 volumes.

It even says “it’s *really* the climax this time!!!” On the advert.

So, it’s been confirmed that Gintama will end in 5 chapters. I’m not gonna write anything huge now, but I’d just like to thank Sorachi Hideaki and his team, Shonen Jump, Sunrise, Bandai Namco Productions, and everyone involved in the making of my all-time favourite series. pic.twitter.com/NolYuyH7af
