It doesn’t have a dedicated GPU like the Huawei Matebook X Pro (which you can’t buy in Australia, or anywhere else anymore), but as far as well specced lightweight laptops go, here’s $500 off i7 Razer Blade Stealth.
Available through the Microsoft Store for $2199 – $200 less than the 256GB SSD model, amazingly – is Razer’s portable, glowing baby laptop. I’ve reviewed earlier models of the Blade Stealth, and found they held up as a great alternative for students or people looking for a Macbook Air-esque device.

I was in Taipei for Computex. I’d just walked into a group press conference ready to take notes and transcribe. I opened up my Macbook Air and … half the screen was blank. The problem with most ultralight devices in this range is that you usually have to make some kind of a tradeoff: you only get an i5 CPU, or only 8GB RAM, or a tiny hard drive. The Stealth offer here has none of those: an i7-8550U with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, which ticks all the boxes for most people, while shipping in a chassis that’s only 1.35kg. (For reference, that’s roughly the same weight as the Surface Laptops or the Huawei Matebook X Pro.)
