The Messy Workspaces Of Famous Manga Artists

Have you ever wondered which manga artist has (or had) the messiest environment, whether that be for work or play? Let’s find out.

As Kotaku recently posted, whether a manga artist is famous or not, people’s work environments can be unique expressions of their personality. In the past, we’ve taken a good look at some of the desks of famous manga artists, but this time, we’re going to focus on messy, disorganised and even filthy spaces.

But, before we look at messy work spaces, let’s look at some reasonably clean ones.

Here is where Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto) works.

This is Hayao Miyazaki’s desk (well, one of his desks).

Different people have different styles of working, and while a manga artist’s work environment might be clean, that doesn’t mean their work is, too. The same is true for messy folks.

And now on to the manga artists with more chaotic workspaces.

Rumiko Takahashi (Urusei Yatsura) is a stacker. Honestly, this isn’t so bad and her workspace does show some rhyme and reason.

Cigarette butts? Check. Scribbles and ink? Check. Pens and pencils strewn about? Check? Eiichiro Oda (One Piece) is messy, but with the brutally hard schedule he keeps, I think he can be forgiven.
