My afternoon is all about Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, as I settle down with my DS to return to Liberty City.
But it’s a return I expect to mix with familiar with the unfamiliar. While I’m discovering a new GTA experience on a handheld with touch and dual-screens, I’m hoping I’m also rediscovering the GTA experience I once loved.
That GTA IV was such a disappointment is something I’ve written about previously. Rockstar’s change of direction for the series was something I could admire and appreciate, but It was never something I could love. If Chinatown Wars succeeds as promised to harking back to the over-the-top silliness of GTA III, replete with mini-games galore and tangible rewards for exploration and experimentation, then I could be ready to fall in love all over again.
Michael’s review has got my hopes up.
