Earlier this month, a mysterious game called Yaiba was announced by Keiji Inafune. The game is not just an Inafune title. It’s a Ninja Gaiden title.
As previously stated, Yaiba focuses on “action”, “ninja” and “mecha”. The game is being developed by Team Ninja and California-based dev Spark as a brand new Ninja Gaiden series. The game’s main character is named “Yaiba” and he is chasing after Ninja Gaiden hero Ryu Hayabusa. The game is titled Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z.
Inafune said this is a game that he really wants to make.
Although Inafune said a few years ago that the Japanese game industry was dying, he now said that he wants this game to be proof that the industry is alive and kicking.
The game is under development, but there’s no ETA on its release. It is slated for consoles.
