The idea of a “nerd bar” isn’t new. You’ll find examples of them all over the world, many of them with a distinct gaming slant. But many are also a little too one-dimensional. Games are great, duh, but they’re not the only thing in the world.
So were I in Paris, I’d be sinking my Euros at Le Dernier Bar Avant la Fin du Monde (“The Last Bar Before the End of the World”), a bar that throws together everything from Star Wars to Blade Runner to tabletop games to Tron to The Simpsons, all under the one roof.
I dare say if you read this site, you’d feel right at home knocking back a Kronenbourg or three.

Well, I guess that’s ONE way to shut the trolls up…
The sci-fi green-lit bar makes me thing of the bar my pals made for my other pals music video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0S-HOOp_VY
While I salute the success of Yahtzee’s bar and I support people being proud of their geekdom, ‘nerd bars’ look as awful as every other themed pub/bar in history. I don’t need a bunch of Irish shit, or sports memorabilia, or video games where I drink. What I do need is a proper selection of stout, because it’s a bar, not a bloody convention.
I can’t think of anything more boring and pointless than drinking for the sake of drinking, I can do that at home, where funnily enough I can play games and other not-bar stuff!
So when I do go out I definitely want to go somewhere where I could have an enjoyable and interesting experience without the alcohol, and then add alcohol!
This reminds me of the PS3 advertisement “Micheal”, and that is awesome
