The Art Of Assassin's Creed III

I haven't had a chance to really sink my teeth into Assassin's Creed III yet, but it seems there's a little conjecture over whether it's a step forwards or a step backwards for the series.

Which is an argument for reviews. Fine Art is all about the pretty stuff, and I doubt you'll find many objections to how slick the game's concept art is.

The images below, of which I'm pretty sure a few haven't been seen before, are all from Ubisoft's team, and like pretty much everything else ever publicly released from ACIII's vaults will be included in the game's official art book, which unlike the last big Assassin's Creed book is focusing purely on concept and production images.

As an aside, apologies for the lack of Fine Art posts last week while we were slumming it on Kotumblr. I know it's some people's favourite part of the night's content here (it's definitely my favourite one to put together), but it just wasn't coming together nicely with the limited tools we had on-hand. Now we're back, though, it's back to business. Thanks for your patience!

Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios. If you're in the business and have some concept, environment or character art you'd like to share, drop us a line!

Its a step foward if you get that far into it. I wont blame anyone who doesnt. I consider myself a bif fan of the series but even I was just wanting to skip parts of the prelude. Mainly cause all I wanted to do was climb trees.

Oh I was wondering where you went but forgot AC3 was out and you've probably been playing it non-stop for days :P

I wish Green but like work and things got a week off after tomorrow though so yeah. Should be back on TAY next week. Maybe. I am about 20 hours in though Sequence 9

having gone from pc to play this on ps3. i can say the concept art might look nice. bit in game, the graphics are terrible + no aa makes it even worse. i am in no way a graphics whore, but either the ps3 is really showing its age or it is a really half arsed product

Agreed. The AC franchise is one of my favourite but the graphics on the PS3 are a massive let-down. The prelude to the main gameplay (fully grown/trained Connor) is ridiculous, I can easily see people putting it down after a few hours of playing as Haytham.

This looks amazing! I can't wait for my PC version of the Freedom Ed!
