A-League Teams Are Heading To Pro Evolution Soccer

Maybe it’s because I live within walking distance of the home stadium of newly formed team the West Sydney Wanderers, but it seems like this year that the year that the A-League truly became a big deal in Australia. There was a massive amount of attention on last weekend’s Grand Final and players of the calibre of Del Piero and Shinji Ono are really raising the level that football is played at in this country. Good timing then for Konami to announce that this year’s Pro Evolution Soccer will feature teams from the A-League.

The A-League itself won’t be featured, Konami are focusing on the AFC Champion’s League which teams from the A-League are a part of. Currently the Central Coast Mariners and Brisbane Roar are taking part in the the 2013 AFC Champion’s League, so it’s reasonable to assume that both of those teams will feature.

I’d like to see more. Obviously, I want my home team the West Sydney Wanderers to feature and Sydney FC — so I can play as Del Piero. We’ve contacted Konami’s local representative to confirm which teams will feature, but they couldn’t add anything else at this point.
