Mighty No. 9 Can’t Possibly Be Any More Like Mega Man

Rockman fans, you probably feel like you’ve died and gone to Mega heaven.

This glimpse of Keiji Inafune’s spiritual successor to Capcom’s beloved but neglected Mega Man franchise was shown at GDC today. Looking similar to the footage shown last September, the video above shows off Mighty No. 9 in its alpha state, still a long ways from its eventual release. Nevertheless, the seeds of everything that the thousands of Kickstarter backers gave money towards seems to be there: classic action platforming, strategically powered boss enemies and charming animations.

Mighty No. 9‘s coming out on consoles, handhelds and PC when it’s done.
