Up until now it felt as though the strategy with regards to the new Godzilla movie was to avoid showing the monster itself, to build that air of mystery. I liked that. The new Asian trailer goes against that grain and actually shows a fair amount of Godzilla totally wrecking shit. That may or may not float your boat, but my fancy has been tickled. This movie looks great.
Also — I wasn’t aware that other Godzilla monsters would be making an appearance. I don’t consider myself up on the lore of Godzilla, but was that Mothra at the end there?
As awesome as this trailer is, I really do hope they show a bit of restraint. I like the idea of building up to something. I already saw Pacific Rim. I don’t necessarily need to see another movie where big giant monsters wreck shit constantly.
Ah what the hell. I don’t really care. Just make it good.
