After spending several months sitting alone in the bathroom clicking Star Wars themed things on my phone, Galaxy of Heroes now gives players the ability to sit together in the bathroom clicking Star Wars themed things, complete with horrible guild names.
Three months after reporting playing EA’s free-to-play mobile Star Wars collectible RPG every day for three months my streak remains unbroken (though there were some very close calls). With today’s addition of guilds and guild raids, in which players form groups with horrible names and work together towards fabulous prizes, I’ll probably being doing this every day until I die.
The new features, mostly copied and pasted from the official website, include:
Guilds
- Guilds are unlocked when players reach level 22. To join a Guild, players can search for a friend, explore recommended Guilds or create their own.
- New chat functionality lets players connect and strategise with Guild mates in real time.
- Guild activities provide ongoing challenges to inspire competition and cooperation with Guild mates for epic gear and rewards.
- A deep set of Guild management tools allow Guild leaders to customise a logo, make their Guild public or private, promote officers, manage membership and more.
Rawr
Raids
- Players can go deep into The Pit, the first in a series of multi-tier Raids that will grow over time. The Pit challenges Guilds to square off against a ferocious rancor, with multiple difficulty levels and a variety of rewards for players from levels 22 to 80.
- Raid leaderboards let players keep tabs on who’s ahead and who’s behind in the race to be the best and wealthiest in the Cantina.
Horrible Guild Names
- Don’t get enough recognition for your clever team names during trivia night at the local bar? Now’s your chance!
Mmmmm, tacos.
Dammit, Jar Jar.
C3P Bros is actually pretty clever.
What’s a dig bick?
Of course it does.
Upon careful consideration and upon realisation that all the guilds with good names were full, I decided to go with the guild with the most wow.
Now I’ll be able to coordinate my daily tapping with up to 50 people I’ve never met before, all in the name of a compulsion I’ve been trying to ignore for half a year but keep failing. I need to lose my iPhone.
Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes does have some fun in it, and if not it has collecting Star Wars people in it. Somewhere between those two I’m still enjoying myself. We’ll see how long that lasts now that I am part of a crack team of old meme dogs.

I’ve been playing since December and having a blast myself =)
Hopefully the current outcry with rewards based on damage caused in raids will be fixed, some players have even been kicked because they contributed “too much” so they get better rewards.
Other than that, i’m very pumped for this.
My guild doesn’t appear to be getting the coins that players earn. Is it only rewarded on daily reset?
But that aside I’m hyped for this and all over it.
The shop is a serious rip off though…. Rancor Raid Bundle $84.99? Go fuck yourself EA.
On top of that they’ve changed the layout so that when i did my usual shipment grab for the daily I ended up spending 273 crystal on a piece of gear i didn’t even need. Fucking yay EA. Now only 2 pieces of gear through shipments using credits (which i have shit tonnes of) but that 273 crystals (if i paid for them) was worth way more.
Agreed. I foolishly spent about $80 in hopes of getting some Leia shards from on of the Rancor bundles, i got a few shards from 1 out of 6, only 5 shards as well.
Seriously, they made it sound like you regularly get 22 shards per pack, 5 per pack and the 100k so it’s definitely not worth it.
Reminds me why i’m now F2P really.
Well they just gifted me 500 crystals as a sorry for some glitch I dont think i was affected by…. So bought a chromium pack. 4 star Darth Maul… immediately they offered a “One Time Power-Up” to level 44 and Gear Level 6 for $24.99…. Git farked….
I tried to create “Sith Happens” and “The Sith hits the fan” but it seems they were either already taken or inappropriate.
Come join my Guild “Guildy guildface” If you haven’t got one yet.
I was hooked for a couple months… I’d delete it, then reinstall the next day. So I waited till I got a character to both level 70 and fully promoted… nothing amazing happened. The shard store thing that opened up was a joke. So I then decided that I was wasting my life watching incremental changes to numbers popping up on the screen while watching the same fight over and over again.
I’ve created a guild for Australian players wanting to work to a NSW/QLD/VIC time schedule.
search for ‘Yavin 4x’
How big is your guild @n_n? I just joined a new guild but i’m from QLD and maybe that will work well if it’s Aussie’s only.
I left my previous one only because i wasn’t going to stay up to midnight to stay in the top 3 for DPS contributed =P
@comandben, it’s still gathering members at this stage. So only 8 members at the moment.
Unfortunately we missed the initial rush that happened when guilds were first released, I created it about 3 days in. You’re welcome to join and see if you want to stay. It’s open.
Well let me know when it’s become full, i’ve been playing since December so i want to be taking on heroic tier in a month or so and I recently switched to a new guild anyway.
Please let me know how you guys/ladies go =)
This is too all the new players, if you want to be a free to play player in this game you will be sorely disappointed in that this game is now turning into a pay to play game and you will not achieve anything great in this game without spending a few hundred dollars in the game.
1. Drop rates for most gear is shocking especially for stun guns and stun cuffs and certian gear can ONLY be acquired from heroic rancor raids and heroic aat raids they cant be farmed.
2. Galactic war cant be finished by F2P ppl 99.999999% of all node 12’s are full gear12 and fully zetad teams.
3. The game gives little to no warning of upcoming events so they force you into panic farming and thus buying packs and buying crystals so u can do the events.
Thats just a couple of things to think about when playing this game and im MOST likely to get banned after this post coz no one likes negative feedback about the game.
