When they’re not tying into the movies, LEGO’s line of Marvel superhero sets has already given us minifigure versions of a whole host of weird and wonderful Marvel heroes over the years. But next year, they’re finally giving us one of the company’s most beloved characters in recent comics history: Ms Marvel herself, Kamala Khan.
Amazon Japan has released new pictures of three new Superhero sets launching early next year — and while there’s some cool stuff in there, the absolute best is Kamala Khan’s minifigure in “Captain America Jet Pursuit“.
Appearing alongside a “Pilot” version of Cap, who gets his own jet to build, Kamala is also joined in the set by a version of Super-Adaptoid, an old-school Marvel villain built by AIM that was a robot capable of mimicking the superpowers of other heroes. Kamala’s stretchy arms are quite unlike any minifigure LEGO’s done before, but hopefully she has a torso with some normal arms too. Either way, it’s a good time for Ms Marvel merchandise in 2017.
Kamala isn’t the only character making her LEGO debut though — another set, “Detroit Steel Strikes“, features the first ever Phil Coulson minifigure, despite his appearances in several of the LEGO Marvel video games over the past few years. He even gets Lola the flying car, too!
The set also comes with a new version of Iron Man in his armour from the recent comic series Invincible Iron Man, as well as a big brick-based version of Justin Hammer’s Detroit Steel power armour for the heroes to fight.
Finally, a third set, first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year, “Hulk vs Red Hulk”, gives us our first She-Hulk minifigure, alongside normal Hulk, Red Hulk and Red She-Hulk, who battle giant buggies, for some reason.
Who am I to complain about a She-Hulk minifigure in any form though? All three of these sets should be available in January 2017.
