There are still several months to go before David Lynch’s Twin Peaks is back. Plenty of time to catch up on the original run of the show, and do so with a damn fine cup of coffee.
Showtime just uploaded this perfect little video meant to alert fans new and old that it’s going to start reairing the original Twin Peaks on Sunday nights. In it, fans can enjoy all the references and newbies can scratch their heads at the weirdness. Unfortunately, there’s nothing from the new series here, but it’s still worth watching.
These new episodes lead up to May 21 when the new episodes start to air. I myself have never watched the show, but I do love coffee and pie and I heard really that’s all you need.

FK in the coffee…………….
Seems a bit derivative of Deadly Premonition.
There’s an interesting story behind the Twin Peaks references in Deadly Premonition. Apparently they were much more blatant originally when the game (under the name Rainy Woods) was shown at the Tokyo Game Show, but public criticism forced them to scale them back. Among other visual changes, Sheriff Woodman in the game had to have his appearance heavily changed because he looked too much like Sheriff Truman from the show.
Agent Morgan’s love of coffee as a tribute to Agent Cooper made it through strong and clear though.
Edit: Well okay, maybe it’s not that interesting a story, but I just have a hard time imagining the game being even more of a Twin Peaks knockoff than what was actually released.
I think my favourite thing about Agent Cooper’s love of coffee is that he’s clearly drinking bad coffee and he simply does not care. It’s coffee, therefore it’s a damn fine cup of coffee.
I saw it the other way: That the diner in Twin Peaks just made amazing tasting coffee… I always wanted to try it! Just like the blue milk in Star Wars! 🙂
