Enjoy Some Cracking Art Thanks To Portfolio Day

Artists today are commemorating Portfolio Day, an opportunity for artists, illustrators, animators, and the wider creative industry to showcase their talent publicly. Naturally, there’s a ton of cracking game art.

The work include artists from all walks of life: cover art for books and novels, finishing artists for movies, pixel artists for indie games, character art for AAA titles like God of War, Halo and Watch Dogs, visual designers, 3D artists, modellers and much, much more.

Some of the artists will be familiar to regular Kotaku Australia readers — we’ve featured Ben Nicholas before in some Fine Art features, and Raf Grassetti (the art director on God of War) has been around the internet for his lifelike reworkings of Smash Ultimate characters.

Remember that slightly realistic, terrifying fur? Now imagine that’s what Sonic looks like in Smash Ultimate. It’s just one of the makeovers some of the Smash roster has gotten of late, courtesy of the art director for God of War.”]

But there’s a ton of artists below you might not have seen before. Quite a few of them are Australian as well, so check their work out!
