The Legend Of Zelda Puts Nintendo 3DS Back On Top In Japan

Japan’s best-selling video game right now may be a PlayStation Portable title – Level 5’s Cardboard Senki – but The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D wasn’t far behind, helping to put the Nintendo 3DS back into first place this week.

Only about 2,000 units separated the first and second place game’s in Japan this week, with Senki coming out on top thanks to more than 166,000 units sold, according to Media Create. Last week’s bestseller, Yakuza: Of the End, slipped to third, but sold another 50,000-plus copies of the latest PlayStation 3 gangster game.

It’s an interesting week of game sales overseas, with the Xbox 360 represented three times (across two games) in the top 20 and one PlayStation 2 title selling well enough to do the same.
