8-Bit Muse Cover? Sword & Sworcery Tribute?

Despite what you may think after watching this trailer, this is not actually an ad for an upcoming iPad game. No, it’s a student project by Jherin Miller, who has brought this trailer for a fictitious game alive via Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. Fans of Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP may be disappointed to hear that, as the influence is clear.

If your ears too are picking up on something familiar, it may be because the music is a retro cover of Muse’s “Knights of Cydonia.”

For more on Jherin Miller’s work, check out his official website, which showcases similarly pixellated photography.
