“Please write that I laughed,” Zelda bossman Eiji Aonuma told IGN during a recent interview when asked whether Nintendo plans to remake The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask.
“Don’t make it sound like I laughed because I was troubled or inconvenienced or put out. I don’t want them to read anything into it. But if you want to say that I laughed, I think that would be a good answer… If they want to interpret my laughter as, ‘yeah, we’re making it’ or ‘no, we’re not,’ I guess that’s really up to them.”
This might be my favourite interview response of the year so far.

We asked a guy a question and he didn’t answer it.
Cool story bro…. literally.
YEAH, WE’RE MAKING IT!!!
WOO HOO!
Sarcastic laugh 🙁 no, we’re not making it
Mad and crazy laugh. I’ve gone insane because people keep asking me that question.
HL3 Confirmed!
Don’t be stupid, he said “Ha” FOUR times, not three.
HALF LIFE 4 CONFIRMED.
Joking aside, IF they’re going to do remakes, i’d really like to see them go all Super Mario All Stars on the old 2D Zeldas. Zelda, Zelda 2 and A Link to the Past, HD remix and repackaged into one little box of awesome.
That’s just evil.
3 years remain…
Is it bad that I heard the sounds of the windmill when I read that?
Damn it why must they tease us like this.
See this would work better as a video interview and he laughed like the fucking mask did. Then we would know its coming.
I believe the laugh we are after is the one Marcus pulls when he is invited to Claptrap’s birthday party
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha no
Pulp Fiction 2 confirmed
“Hahaha— No.” – Ishihara on Ruby/Sapphire remakes and Virtual Console Pokémon.
Ummm every Zelda game is basically a remake. How about asking “Will there ever be a ‘new’ Zelda game?”
If Wind Waker sells, you can bet this gets talked about very seriously in the Nintendo offices.
